There were 18 teams, the most we’ve seen. We had a full complement of five (while we were surrounded by at least two tables who cheated with six players). The questions started off fairly easy but got harder.

And we scored the most points we’ve ever scored. But, of course, now I can’t remember exactly how many it was. I think 71.

We had at least three rounds of 9, we rocked the picture round (politicians) and I finally made a contribution to the music round. The theme of the round was: “Paul Anka sings pop hits”. It was really weird, none of the songs sounded anything at all like their original recordings. I hit upon the idea of just writing down the lyrics and then trying to block out the music and see if the words sounded familiar. It worked pretty well.

Marco even pulled a particularly vexing one out of his ass when he suggested it was Michael Jackson, but he didn’t know the title. A few minutes of shame later, as I worked the words over and over in my best high voice, it hit me: “The Way You Make Me Feel”

And cue crotch grab. Wooooooh.

We only finished in 4th place though, there was some pretty stiff competition, but we beat our perennial rivals the Beer Hunters. Better luck next time boys. (Suckahs!)
