What a novel concept for a music company, “let’s create software that blows up the computers of our customers!”

What the hell were these guys thinking in the first place? Developing malware to be put onto the machines of people who use their products without their knowledge, to monitor their activities and prevent them from doing things that Sony doesn’t want.

Talk about a PR fiasco. They deserve to get sued for making software which corrupts a $1,600 (on average) computer all to protect a $16 CD.

What a bunch of idiots. What Sony VP or board member approved the proposal entitled “Develop Spyware With Security Flaws So We Can Screw All Our Customers”? When someone said, “Hey, maybe we could solve the piracy problem by just taking control of every customer’s computer in the world!” no one stopped to think that was maybe a bit overboard?

This would be like the car dealer breaking into my garage and checking if I had put any non-standard parts onto my car, and if had the audacity to do so, smashing the engine to pieces.

Man, stupid people piss me off.

of course Sony asks you to agree with all of this before you listen to their music

Was it Sony that said that they didn’t create products but markets? I guess that they are creating a black-hat market here.

Looks like it didn’t take long for the bad publicity to convince Sony to stop making malware.
