So the Table of Contents experienced a first last night: we had six people on our team.

Joining us for the first time were Ruben (poker friend), Gioia (pronounced Joy-a, the new German intern who I roped into replacing Julia to carry on the tradition), and Paul (Darien’s friend from New Zealand). Plus Ingrid, Darien and I. The dynamic was very good and we had a lot of fun, but the quiz was back to its usual strength and we could tell right from the beginning that it was going to be tough.

Some highlights:

  • The picture round was Disney cartoon characters and they were pretty random characters too. Like the name of the laughing hyena from Lion King and the llama character that David Spade played in the Emperor’s New Groove.
  • Darien came up big with all the Old Testament questions. Thank god we have a Jew on the team. 😉
  • Ingrid again dominated the music round, with some help from Ruben she got us 16 points, much better than our average 12
  • I made the right call on a couple of things like Mel Gibson being in Tequila Sunrise and something else I can’t remember
  • Paul knew that Hungary was the answer to some question that none of us knew and I can’t remember. Go Paul.

Even with six people we ended up in 5th place with 68 points. I’m sure we will do better next time though. Looking forward to next week. Thanks to all our newcomers for participating.

BTW: I found out that the Alchemist & Barrister here in Princeton has a pub trivia night on Tuesdays…I want to go next week, but it only starts at 10pm 🙁 By that time I am usually already brain dead…
