But not in the way you think.

I guess it was inevitable, after so much smack talking, that Maurits would get pissed off and get back into form. He came from behind in two games (one of them he was down 7-1) to win the best of three match. I won one more at the end, but somehow it still doesn’t feel “even”.

On Tuesday I was also handed my ass by Darien, who beat me 9-2 in the first game. He’s a really skilled player and gets some amazing shots, if you don’t make him give up the center of the court you have no chance of beating him. He also has a nasty wall-grazing serve that’s really hard to return. But now I have a mission, so watch out Darien… you are now a marked man.

We also had the pleasure of watching Jack Slagman, the owner of the gym, play against some other dude. These two guys must have a combined age of over 100, but their skill and speed had us in awe. Talk about ball control. I guess the fact that he’s been a lifelong sports enthusiast and body builder has something to do with it.

More updates as they warrant, sports fans.
