Pub Quiz S02E07

What a night.

From the very beginning we were just on fire. It was Darien, Ian, Ingrid and myself, and in the first three rounds we only got two answers wrong. We missed a few on the picture round (it was animals… who knew THAT was what a yak really looked like…), but we were doing pretty well until the fifth or six rounds where they gave a five point question for naming all of the stars of the Dutch “Big Brother” series who appeared in Playboy. With only one Dutch person on the team (and she’s not a Big Brother fan) we needed some help from our friends Bloem to even get three out of five.

The entire quiz was ridiculously easy, and as a result the Table of Contents broke some records:

• Highest score ever (87)
• Best music round ever (18)
• Highest ranking ever (2nd)

At the end of the quiz they asked for representatives of three teams to come up for a tie breaker. We sent Ian and the question was: What age was Bruce Lee when he died?

But before we could find out if we won or not, the organizers realized that there was actually one team that scored more than the others, so we were having the bonus question to decide between second and third place.

Anyway, Ian guessed it exactly. 32 years old. And his reasoning? “Well, Bruce Lee was kickass when he died, and I feel kickass about now, so I figured he was as old as I was.”

Hey, whatever works baby. Whatever works.

So, congratulations to the team for doing so well. We had some fantastic assists from everyone. Ingrid came through on the music round as usual, Darien pulled the artist who released the album “Musicbox” out of his ass (Mariah Carey), and Ian came up big at clutch time.

It was a fun time. Looking forward to repeating next week.
