The Party (con't)

All in all the party was a lot of fun. Well, except for the part where Ken threw his frisbee into a tree while attempting to blade his disc into the bed of his pickup truck from his station at the grill. That led to me trying to knock his out of the tree with my frisbee, and of course, mine gets stuck too.

Not willing to sacrifice his last disc, Ken makes me get the tennis balls out of my trunk and we start hucking those at the the two discs now. Wouldn't you know it... we lose ALL THREE tennis balls to the blasted tree. But one of them is in a branch low enough that I get a nine iron out of my golf bag, which is the last thing in my trunk that I am willing to sacrifice to get these damn discs out of this damn tree.

So we use the golf club to get the tennis ball, to get another tennis ball, until finally Ken and I both are chucking tennis balls at the tree until we get both discs down.

The sad thing was, I would have started chucking golf clubs at that damn tree in another minute or two, and not out of any desire to get the frisbees any more.

The Gifts

It finally came time for Katie to hold court and open her presents. Wouldn't you know it, Ken and Sole give her a gift certificate to The Sports Authority and Freddy and Marta give her coupons for the movies. Along with assorted checks and cash, our Gap certifcate rounded out the presents very well I thought.
