We have about three hours before we head to Newark to go back to the Netherlands, so I thought I’d jot down a quick list of things that my vacation home has reminded me that I miss:

  • Heat in the summer
  • The sound of cicadas
  • Tall leafy trees on both sides of the road
  • Radio stations playing summer hits
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Shopping malls
  • Best Buy
  • Houses with yards
  • Barbecues in the yard
  • Mercer County summer ultimate
  • Customer service
  • Pop music stations
  • The discount DVD rack
  • Supermarkets the size of warehouses with wide lanes full of products and regular (large) sized shopping carts
  • Playing poker with your friends
  • HBO
  • Driving a car
  • Playing frisbee golf with Ken
  • Ryan and Amy’s cooking
  • Seeing my friends’ children
  • Walking past Princeton University

Very poignant. Now when you get home, I expect a list of things you like about the Netherlands! 🙂

I’ve played poker with you here in the netherlands, which means either I’m not your friend, or we weren’t playing poker
(Though I did wonder why my bottom used to hurt afterwards).
