We had to change the name of the trip this year since two of the original guys from the previous ‘Annual Guys Snowboard Trip’ are not in attendance and now we have to be more gender-neutral since our friend Katy Stefanidou joined us from Munich.
This year the snowboard trip is in Kaprun, Austria. It’s supposedly the second time I have been skiing in Europe, but the first was in the French Alps when I was 4 and since I don’t remember a single bit of it, it does’t count.
I’m in an Internet cafe at the moment, trying to type on a German keyboard, so I’ll just keep this short. Many more details (and pictures) to come. The trip has been a lot of fun, especially since we have joined up with 10 new friends that I met through my Den Haag poker group and we have been playing poker and going out at nights together and it’s a nice diverse and fun group. Again, details to follow.
Suffice to say, Austria has some nice big mountains, and the cost of snowboarding is relatively cheap. The snow is plentiful and on the days when Ken makes me get up early to get on the mountain by 9 (which is a feat since it takes almost an hour to get from our hotel to the top of the multiple lifts you have to take), we have a great time carving up the mountain.
More later, just wanted to rub it in that I’m in an Internet cafe in Kaprun on my ski holiday and unless your name is Ken or Katie… you’re not.
